Our little boy Noah turned one on 18th January 2020. We can hardly believe that tiny, little newborn baby we brought home from the hospital is now a big, smiley, funny toddler. The last year has flown by in a flash, it’s true they grow so fast and you just don't know where the time goes. We have had the best year of our lives with our little boy, watching him grow and change, and develop over time.

I remember when we brought him home from the hospital like it was only yesterday. I’m sure that is something that most parents will say and understand when someone says how quickly time passes you by. Noah was especially tiny, weighing in at 6lb 14oz and then dropping to just over 6lb within a few days. His newborn clothes were too big for him and for the first month he wore the size ‘tiny baby’. Whenever I see an item in that size, I now find it very hard to believe our bouncy toddler is the same little human that wore ‘tiny baby’.

Documenting his first year in many, many photos was one of my best goals for the year. I am so glad we will always have these precious memories to look back on as he grows and will only have more and more photos to add to our memories of his childhood as he grows. I am so glad I took photos even at the start in the blurry, exhaustion of having a newborn, these were untouched for a while and eventually edited. Along with a backlog of thousands of ‘Noah photos’ and I am so so glad that all exists, I am finally up to date, it only took a year!

Always take photos of your family, whether its a phone or camera, they grow and change so much, document as much as you can! I love looking back through our many photos of Noah.

We spent Noah’s actual birthday quietly just the three of us, chilling and reflecting over the past year and our very precious memories of Noah and as a family. Noah had a lovely day, living his best life with his balloons and new slide. We also spent time with our family celebrating his first birthday over a few days. It is so lovely to bring our family together for this special occasion and our very sociable little boy loved it. He is lucky to have lots of older cousins to celebrate with.

I captured his birthday morning on camera as he played around. I can’t get enough of that cheeky grin and little spark. He really is a ray of sunshine, always so smiley and happy. And yep this boy loves the camera! Here are a few relaxed portraits of this little chap loving his birthday morning!
