Happy New Year 2020!

Updated: May 28

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrating the start of not only a new year but a new decade. I love new year; reflecting on the past year and getting excited about what lies ahead.

At the start of 2019 we welcomed our baby boy, Noah, he was so tiny weighing in at 6lb 14oz, just so tootsy! It was an amazing year watching this tiny, little baby grow, develop and learn into a smiley, loud, very almost toddler. Second to this, my husband, Scott, and I bought a new house, because, anyone with a baby will know how much stuff they come with, and if you don’t know, it’s a LOT. Throwback to us in December 2018; ‘We won’t have baby stuff all over the place’ Yeah, good one.

After taking some maternity leave to soak up all the newborn squishiness with Noah, I was back to business in the Summer. It was amazing to work with all of my lovely clients, photographing weddings and capturing family shoots. I truly love my job and am genuinely delighted and do a little happy dance when someone books me! This now brings us to 2020. I CAN’T WAIT to get stuck into work this year. I am so excited for lots of exciting weddings this year at some gorgeous new venues around Edinburgh and Glasgow, and some a little further afield including; Dalduff Farm in Ayrshire, Hetland Hall in Dumfries, and Rossie Ochil Estate in Perthshire. Did I mention I love to travel? Just sayin' I will happily travel to photograph anywhere in this beautiful country.

I find, like many others, the turn of a new year to be a very inspiring time, in the spirit of this, I have been working behind the scenes over the last few months to develop my business brand. On New Year’s Day I launched my shiny, new website complete with a new logo that I feel is more reflective of my style. After all, new year does seem like the perfect time for new things! I wanted my brand, website, and social media, to have a simple, minimalist, chic vibe. Over the last while, I have worked to develop my vision and editing style to move towards a light, airy, fresh feel that emulates the soft, timeless look of film and am delighted to showcase this work on my new website.

I am launching this new blog (duh) and will very soon announce a gorgeous packaging update aligned to my brand refresh. On this blog, I will be sharing beautiful weddings, engagements and family shoots, as well as exciting new blog series, including Friday Favourites, How To and FAQs, and some nice personal adventures, and oh so cute Noah pictures so you can get to know me and my daily life a little more, and who is behind the camera. It’s nice to know who you are hiring! If you have a topic you would like to read about as you plan your wedding, give me a holla, I would love to hear about it.

I very recently had my own shoot before Christmas, stepping into the unknown, i.e in front of the camera courtesy of my very talented brother-in-law, Blair. Here’s a few favourites of my family. We all know that Noah stole the show, he knows what he is doing for the camera for sure!
